Mirwaiz seeks participation of AAC members during Hafta-e-Shouda events

Mirwaiz Manzil, May 02, 2015: APHC Chairman and head of Awami Action Committee (AAC) Mirwaiz Dr Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq conducted an extraordinary session of AAC’s central committee leaders, workers and district presidents at organizations headquarter at Mirwaiz Manzil, Rajouri Kadal.

During the meeting, Mirwaiz, while paying tributes to the founder of AAC Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulana Mohammad Farooq (RA), Hawal martyrs of May 21, martyr Abdul Gani Lone, and other martyrs of Kashmir, said that Shaheed-e-Millat represented the emotions and aspirations of the oppressed Kashmiris for around three decades and his contribution towards political social and religious spheres in Kashmir was matchless.

While announcing the Haft-e-Shohda programme to pay tributes, especially to the martyrs of 1990, and martyrs of Kashmir at large, Mirwaiz stressed upon the workers and leaders of AAC to observe the different events relating Haft-e-Shahadat with zeal and zest. He asked the AAC members to actively participate in the programmes to make them a success and show their commitment and resolve towards the freedom struggle.

Terming the sacrifice of Shaheed-e-Millat, AAC leaders, workers and activists to keep the popular sentiment alive as a golden chapter in the freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir, Mirwaiz stated AAC has never bowed before the forces of oppression nor has it got tired of the struggle. He said that the movement which was started by Muhajar-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Yousuf Shah (RA) under the banner of Muslim Conference in 1931 was taken forward by Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohammad Farooq in 1964 by announcing the formation of AAC which is, since the day of its foundation, engaged in representing political emotions and aspirations of Kashmiris at various levels.

Expressing concern over the condition of prisoners in Kashmir and outside Jails, the participants demands their immediate unconditional release.
Strongly supporting the stand of Mirwaiz on the return of Kashmiri Pandits, the participants stated that KP’s were part of our social fabric and hence their return would be always welcomed.

The participants resolved that they would make the Haft-e-Shohda programme a grand success at all levels by ensuring participation.
